The ‘barns’ at Budds are converted farm buildings grouped around the old yard. We have four properties -- two with one bedroom and two for four guests. As well as the yard, each cottage has use of a lawned area with garden furniture.
Additionally, there is a communal utility room (known as Wren) equipped with washing machine, tumble dryer, books, maps, leaflets, Wellington boots and many other things that have proved useful to previous guests.
Our 1-Bedroomed Barns
The old stable is a two-storey building with stone walls to the ground floor with a former hay store above, walled in cob. Adjoining the stable was a single-storey open-fronted barn, originally used to hold the farm's wagons. These buildings now are two spacious one bedroomed holiday cottages, called The Stable and The Carthouse.
Our 2-Bedroomed Barns
On the opposite side of the old yard to the farmhouse, there is a stone barn that used to be a shippon and tallet , together with a single-storey bullock house. This building has been converted to provide two 2-bedroomed holiday cottages. We have called these Swallow Barn and Wagtail Barn, remembering some of their former inhabitants.
